THREE SMALL STEPS

From HEIC to JPG, just like that.

01

Add HEIC or HEIF photos

Drop your original photos into the workspace or choose them from your device. Add up to 20 files per batch.

02

Choose quality and convert

Set JPG quality, then click Convert to JPG. HEIC support loads when you first convert; larger photos can take longer on phones.

03

Review your JPGs

Preview the decoded primary photo and its JPG result. Check the image before downloading individual files or a batch ZIP.

THE RIGHT FORMAT FOR THE JOB

Your iPhone photo, ready for more places.

HEIC is commonly used for photos from Apple devices, but a website, document workflow or older photo app may ask for JPG or JPEG. This converter creates actual JPEG image data from the primary still photo.

The export keeps the decoded photo’s displayed dimensions within the tool’s limits. JPG is a lossy, 8-bit image format: HDR appearance, wide-gamut color and photo-specific extras are not preserved by this tool. Keep your original for editing or archiving.

The details behind your download.

How do I convert HEIC to JPG?

Choose original .heic or .heif photos, select the JPG quality and click Convert to JPG. Preview the result, then download one JPG or the batch as a ZIP.

Are my iPhone photos uploaded?

No. Conversion happens in your browser on your device. FileTavi does not receive your images. Keep this tab open until you have downloaded your results. The browser downloads the converter software when needed; it never sends your selected photos to FileTavi.

Can I use HEIF files as well as HEIC?

This tool accepts HEIC and HEIF still-photo containers using HEVC image encoding. HEIF can also contain other encodings that this decoder does not support. Renaming a JPG, AVIF or video file to .heic does not make it compatible.

What happens if a file contains several images or a Live Photo?

FileTavi converts the primary still photo, rather than an embedded thumbnail or every image in the container. Other views, depth maps, gain maps and Live Photo video are not exported. Image sequences are not supported.

Will the JPG keep the same quality, HDR and metadata?

JPG uses lossy compression, so even the highest quality setting can change detail. This tool exports an 8-bit image, removes original EXIF and location metadata, and does not preserve HDR or wide-gamut color fidelity. Review the preview and keep your HEIC original.

Will portrait photos be rotated or resized?

The decoder applies the HEIF container’s display transformations. FileTavi does not resize the output. Its width and height follow the decoded primary photo’s displayed orientation. Unusual or damaged files may not decode correctly; check the preview before use.

What are the file and photo-size limits?

Add up to 20 files, up to 50 MB each and 150 MB total per batch. HEIC photos can contain up to 26 million pixels, with neither side exceeding 16,384 pixels. This includes typical 24MP iPhone photos, but not 48MP originals. Converted results are limited to 200 MB per tab, and available device memory can impose lower practical limits.

Why does the first conversion take longer?

Your browser downloads HEIC support when you first convert. Photos are then decoded one at a time on your device. Use a current browser with background image processing, keep this tab open and try a smaller batch if your device is low on memory.
