THREE SMALL STEPS

From WebP to JPG, just like that.

01

Add static WebP images

Choose saved WebP images or drop them into the workspace. Animated WebP files are detected and rejected with a clear message.

02

Choose your JPG settings

Set the image quality and a fill color for transparent areas, then click Convert to JPG.

03

Preview and take them along

Check the JPGs before downloading. Save files individually or download the whole batch in a ZIP.

THE RIGHT FORMAT FOR THE JOB

For the places that still ask for JPG.

WebP works well on the web, but an older editor, document workflow or upload form may still require JPG or JPEG. Converting makes a static image available in that format.

JPG does not support transparency or animation. This tool fills transparent areas with your chosen color and accepts only static WebP images. A JPG can be larger than its WebP original, and another lossy encode can change detail.

The details behind your download.

How do I convert WebP to JPG?

Add static WebP files, choose your JPG quality and background color, then click Convert to JPG. Download individual images or save the batch as a ZIP.

Can I just rename .webp to .jpg?

Changing the extension does not change the image encoding. FileTavi decodes the WebP and creates actual JPEG image data with a .jpg extension.

What happens to transparency?

JPG cannot keep transparency. Transparent WebP areas are filled with white by default, or with a dark, cream or custom color you select before conversion.

Can I convert an animated WebP?

This tool supports static WebP images only. Animated WebP files are rejected rather than silently losing their animation.

Will the JPG be smaller or look exactly the same?

Neither is guaranteed. WebP can already be very compact, so a JPG may be larger. JPG also uses lossy compression. Compare the preview and file size, and keep your original if exact detail matters.

Are my WebP images uploaded to a server?

No. Conversion happens in your browser on your device. FileTavi does not receive your images. Keep this tab open until you have downloaded your results.

Does this change the dimensions or metadata?

FileTavi does not resize your image. Original metadata such as comments and camera information is not retained when the pixels are re-encoded. Color appearance can vary with your browser and display. Display orientation is applied by your browser. Use a modern browser with WebP decoding support.

What are the file limits?

Add up to 20 files per batch, up to 50 MB each and 150 MB total. Each image can contain up to 24 million pixels, with neither side exceeding 16,384 pixels. Converted results are limited to 200 MB per tab. Your device’s available memory can impose lower practical limits. Only static WebP images are supported.
